Mischief Wins Top Regatta Performance

GMT’s lead engineer and former owner, David Schwartz, led his team to a dominating victory in the 47th Annual Buzzards Bay Regatta this past weekend in New Bedford Massachusetts. Posting all first place finishes both over the line and on corrected time in 5 races on Saturday and Sunday in PHRF Class 2, he couldn’t be stopped. In addition to winning his class, David and his team on Mischief were awarded the Buzzards Bay Trophy for top overall Regatta performance.

Mischief is a Lyman Morse built Seguin 40 with a GMT carbon rig and rudder that David has been sailing successfully for years. The rig and rudder were added years ago, and while rumors were flying of “modifications” to the boat over the winter, David would invite anyone to come aboard and see the cushions, full teak table, oven, giant anchor and chain, etc. Mischief is a true racer/cruiser that David sails very well and is a classic example of what a carbon rig can do for an “older” boat.
